A new documentary titled "Paging Hezbollah", directed by Justin Pollack and set to premiere in the United States on October 30, reveals previously classified details about the September 2024 pager explosions operation against Hezbollah.
Behind the Scenes of the Operation
The film features interviews with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Mossad Director David Barnea, and former Northern Command Chief Uri Gordin. According to the disclosures, Israel eliminated a Hezbollah operative who grew suspicious of the pagers and attempted to inspect them. The operative was liquidated under a different pretext, masking the true target of the attack alongside a bystander.
"In the first week of August, it turns out that someone suspected the pagers," former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recounted in a past interview. "We eliminated him alongside someone else under various pretexts."
Intercepting Inspection Equipment
Additionally, Israel destroyed a shipment of screening and inspection machines sent from Iran to Lebanon. The strike was executed in a manner that concealed the ultimate objective of the operation, preventing Hezbollah from uncovering the infiltration into its supply chain.
The documentary details how Israel successfully penetrated Hezbollah's communication network through device engineering and supply chain manipulation, convincing operatives to adopt technology they believed was secure.
