Hanukkah events, most notably the annual Festigal show, have become an integral part of Israeli family life. However, this traditional holiday outing has turned into a significant financial burden amid the rising cost of living. Market data shows that ticket prices for the Festigal have increased by 10 shekels across all seating categories compared to 2025.

Price Increases Across Seating Categories

Ticket prices for the main hall rose from 189 NIS last year to 199 NIS in 2026, marking a 5.3% increase. In the lower balcony, prices climbed from 159 NIS to 169 NIS, an increase of roughly 6.3%, while upper balcony tickets rose from 129 NIS to 139 NIS, representing a 7.8% hike.

"The rising cost of living is felt directly in holiday entertainment, making consumer clubs and credit card perks essential for Israeli families looking to manage their budgets."

To help mitigate these cumulative costs, various consumer clubs in Israel offer exclusive discounts to their members. Security forces and teachers' clubs lead the savings chart this year. Members of the "Hever" club enjoy the lowest market prices, starting at just 29 NIS for the upper balcony and reaching 69 NIS for the main hall. Close behind is the "Ashmoret" club of the Teachers' Union, offering upper balcony tickets for 24 NIS and up to 85 NIS for the main hall.

Credit Card and Bank Discounts

Even those who are not members of labor unions can reduce costs through credit card companies and banks. MAX, CAL, Isracard, and Diners offer discounts ranging from 60 to 70 NIS per ticket in exchange for reward points, bringing starting prices down to 69-79 NIS. Bank Hapoalim and Mizrahi Tefahot provide similar perks starting with 59-70 NIS discounts, while El Al's FLYCARD holders enjoy a 100 NIS discount per ticket.

Despite the wide array of discounts, ticket supplies through these clubs are limited, and purchases are typically restricted to 4 to 6 tickets per member. Factoring in transportation, food, and additional holiday attractions, expenses can rapidly accumulate, putting extra strain on household budgets.
