Man Killed in Car Explosion on Highway 4 Near Or Akiva in Suspected Assassination

A 25-year-old man was killed on Thursday evening in a car explosion at the Yam Interchange on Highway 4, south of Or Akiva. Police are investigating the incident as a suspected criminal assassination.

Footage from the scene showed a Skoda Octavia vehicle on the sidewalk near a bus stop with its rear window shattered. The report of the explosion was received at the 101 emergency dispatch of Magen David Adom in the Sharon region at 21:34.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene found the young man unconscious and suffering from multi-system trauma. Despite resuscitation efforts, they were forced to pronounce him dead at the scene. Police forces from the Hadera station launched an investigation and are collecting evidence.
