Two have already come true: Baba Vanga's alarming prophecies for 2026

She predicted deadly earthquakes and heatwaves in 2026, and the blind mystic has once again proven she was right. From aliens landing here by November, through regret over AI, to a third world war: the alarming scenarios of the prophetess from Bulgaria, who died three decades ago, for the rest of the year.

The believers were (almost) right: Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian mystic, to whom her followers attribute far-reaching predictions about the future of humanity, has apparently hit the mark with some of her predictions for 2026.

Although the Bulgarian fortune teller passed away in 1996 — more than 30 years ago — there are still those who tend to attach great weight to her words. In her day, she provided a long series of predictions — some of which have already come true. Among the visions, she predicted that natural disasters would strike our world.

In 2026, two devastating earthquakes were already felt in Venezuela on June 24 — one with a magnitude of 7.2 and the second with a magnitude of 7.5. According to estimates, more than 6,000 people were killed and 61,000 needed treatment in hospitals. The World Bank estimates that the extent of the damage could reach a total sum of 20 billion dollars.

At the beginning of the year, Chile also suffered the hard blow of severe forest fires in the Bio-Bio and Nuble regions. 21 people were killed, and tens of thousands were forced to evacuate their homes.

Since Baba Vanga did not specify exactly when and where the droughts were supposed to occur, the chance that her prediction would turn out to be wrong was low to begin with — even more so now, with the effects of climate change. Droughts, unbearable heatwaves, and extreme weather events that are expected to worsen in the future all serve as justification for Baba Vanga's doom-mongering.

"Gone too far"

Another prediction that many love to attribute to her is the prediction of the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI), even though she passed away many years before it even existed. Apparently, she said that this is the year when humanity will realize that it has gone "too far" with Artificial Intelligence.

What else did Baba Vanga predict for 2026?

As for her other major predictions regarding what is supposed to happen in 2026, she claimed that this is the year when an alien spacecraft will arrive and estimates that humanity's first encounter with extraterrestrials will occur no later than November. So far, we will live and see regarding this prophecy in a few months.

Another major prediction of hers is that we may experience the Third World War this year, a scenario that is not pleasant to imagine. Both she and Nostradamus, a 16th-century seer, predicted this scenario — with the old woman hinting that in 2026 several "global wars" would take place.

Russia continues its attempts to invade Ukraine, attempts that have not yet succeeded, while the USA and Israel are at war against Iran — a confrontation that has had global consequences. This is not exactly what either of them said explicitly, but that is the greatness of the art of prediction: the ability to stretch vague language from the past so that it fits the events of the present, and to perform reverse engineering on an idea that someone supposedly knew that all this was about to happen.

Also, it was claimed that she predicted that the Third World War would start as early as last year, after she allegedly said:

"In the spring, a war will break out in the East and there will be a Third World War. A war in the East that will destroy the West."

But from the perspective of someone who passed away three decades ago, we are right on the verge of a point where our planet will turn its back on Artificial Intelligence, meet aliens, and experience a new global confrontation.
