Shiri Maimon Sells Out Caesarea: A Look Inside Concert Production Costs

Shiri Maimon, one of Israel's most celebrated vocalists and performers, takes the stage at the Caesarea Amphitheatre for a major sold-out concert. All 4,500 tickets, priced between 169 and 319 shekels, were snapped up in advance, generating a gross box office revenue of approximately 1,080,000 shekels.

However, before profits can be calculated, state taxes and operational expenses take a substantial cut. The Tax Authority claims an 18% VAT amounting to roughly 157,923 shekels, while ticketing and distribution commissions deduct about 40,000 shekels, leaving a net income of around 883,000 shekels before production costs.

The demanding production mechanism involves significant expenses, including venue rental with the Nature and Parks Authority at 80,000 shekels, and advanced sound, lighting, LED screens, and technical crews totaling 150,000 shekels. Licensing, security, and medical staffing add another 60,000 shekels to the budget.

The artistic budget requires heavy investment as well: musicians, backing vocalists, musical direction, rehearsals, and styling are priced at around 130,000 shekels. Combined with ACUM creator royalties of 60,000 shekels and digital marketing expenses of 70,000 shekels, total production costs reach approximately 550,000 shekels.

After all deductions, an operating profit of 333,000 shekels remains, split between the production agency and Maimon herself. Following income tax deductions, Maimon's net profit from the sold-out show is expected to stand at around 150,000 shekels, highlighting the immense financial reality behind major concert productions.

Last September, Maimon spoke candidly about the heavy personal and physical toll her demanding career takes, particularly following her participation in "Dancing with the Stars". She described deep mental fatigue and the challenges it posed to her family life, expressing gratitude to her body for enduring the grueling schedule.
