Another victim of a conflict that has claimed 37 lives in three and a half years: Hisham Hajirat (61) was murdered this morning (Friday) by gunfire from unknown persons while in his vehicle in the city of Shfaram, Galilee.

According to police suspicions, the deceased happened to be at the scene of the escape of those involved in the assassination of his relative, bus driver Ali Sawaed (24), early last month. Hajirat was allegedly shot by the perpetrators at that time and sustained light to moderate wounds.

The report of the shooting in Shfaram was received in the Carmel district at 05:31. Medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene declared Hajirat's death. Senior medic Muhammad Ziadna stated:

"We saw the wounded man inside a vehicle, unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with severe penetrating wounds to his body. We performed medical checks, but he showed no signs of life."

The police have opened an investigation. Investigators believe that Hajirat was shot to death this morning specifically because he witnessed the suspects in the murder of the bus driver. This killing is part of an ongoing conflict between two families in Shfaram that has claimed 37 lives in three and a half years. Despite various mediation attempts, efforts have not yet succeeded in ending the bloodshed.

Local residents expressed their despair: "The situation is very dangerous; we must act to end the conflict before there are more victims. Today it is Hisham, who was murdered only because he saw the killers. We do not know who will be the next victim."

Since the beginning of the year, 160 people have been murdered in Arab society. According to provided data, only about 20 of these cases have been solved by the police. However, there has been a significant decrease in the number of murders recently, with only four people killed in the Arab sector over the last 32 days.
