Following a stormy weekend marked by a violent incident in the heart of Bnei Brak, "Be-yachad" party leader Naftali Bennett took to social media to issue a sharp and defiant statement, making it clear he has no intention of backing down or lowering his profile.
Defiant Response to Violence
"No violence will stop me," Bennett wrote on X, directly addressing the severe altercation that took place during his visit. He recounted how objects were suddenly thrown at his team during a public event in Bnei Brak, resulting in a staff member sustaining injuries.
"No violence will stop me. On Thursday night in Bnei Brak, objects were thrown at us and a member of my staff was injured. An aggressive minority will not intimidate us. The attacker does not reflect the Haredi public at all," Bennett stated.
Despite the hostility, Bennett drew a clear line between the violent fringe and the broader ultra-Orthodox community, emphasizing that he plans to continue visiting every corner of the country to engage directly with Israeli citizens.
Confrontation and Political Stance
The resonant tweet followed an intense visit to the "Motis" restaurant in Bnei Brak. What began as a conversation with yeshiva students quickly deteriorated into a chaotic gathering accompanied by derogatory chants. The situation escalated when a salt shaker was hurled at the party leader, missing him but striking a female staff member. Magen David Adom paramedics treated her at the scene, and Israel Police immediately arrested a suspect.
During the visit, Bennett also engaged in a direct confrontation with right-wing activist Mordechai David, who attempted to block his path. Addressing the contentious issue of military service exemptions, Bennett told him firmly: "I suggest you enlist quickly, because from the moment I am prime minister, you won't get a single shekel from the state."
