Elisha Medan, a recent addition to the Likud party, called for the establishment of the broadest possible coalition after the upcoming elections, including every Zionist party.
Speaking at the "Shishi Tarbut Shel Mishan" conference, Medan stated that his primary goal is to see a government that unites as many factions as possible to face major national challenges.
Medan noted that he presented this exact position to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a visit at Sheba Medical Center. He recounted telling the prime minister that they must do everything possible to prevent returning to the fractured reality that preceded the events of October 7.
Highlighting the severity of current security and political hurdles, Medan emphasized the necessity of political unity. He lost both legs during heavy fighting in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip in November 2023, subsequently undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation and receiving the honor of lighting a torch on Israel's Independence Day in 2025 before securing a spot on the Likud electoral list.
