Tests conducted at the Orot Rabin power plant in Hadera revealed that in 40% of the operating time of the coal-fired units, air pollution was measured above the permitted level. The Sharon-Carmel Environmental Association stated: "The operation of the units entails environmental and health consequences."

The Lesico Group is expanding its footprint in the energy sector. Its subsidiary, Foldmir Binyan, has secured a contract to construct a power plant in southern Israel, with the first phase expected to generate approximately 70 million shekels in revenue.

Shamir Energy, controlled by Meir Shamir, is in talks to acquire 30%-70% of the power plant owned by Ari Nadlan and Tzahi Abu, as well as Jackie Ben Zaken, in the Menashe Regional Council.

Following the collapse of the deal with Chaim Katzman, Ari Nadlan has reached an important milestone in the Orot Yitzhak power plant project. The land is estimated to be worth 1 to 1.5 billion shekels following its rezoning.
