Ja Morant

The Locked On Blazers podcast analyzes how Portland can balance the roles of Deni Avdija, Damian Lillard, and Ja Morant. Host Mike Richman warns against limiting Avdija's driving ability.

Portland is building its young core around Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, and Donovan Clingan, but analysts warn the Trail Blazers need another star offensive partner to contend in the West.

Following a breakout season, Israeli star Deni Avdija faces a new challenge in Portland alongside Damian Lillard and Ja Morant, balancing his role and reducing pressure.

A Yahoo Sports analysis highlights the Portland Trail Blazers' high-potential roster, featuring Deni Avdija, Ja Morant, and Damian Lillard, stressing that elite transition defense is essential to their success.

Despite the return of the Blazers star and the arrival of Ja, in the US they believe the ball should be in the Israeli's hands: "He proved what he is capable of achieving".

Despite the addition of Ja Morant and high hopes for the new season, The Athletic was not impressed by the Trail Blazers' summer moves and ranked them only 24th out of 30 teams in their annual ranking. Doubts about the combination with Damian Lillard, the appointment of the new coach, and the owner's conduct left the Israeli star's team among the biggest disappointments of the offseason.

Deni Avdija is heading into the upcoming NBA season after the best year of his career, but analysts in the US suggest that the major trade bringing Ja Morant to Portland could complicate his future with the club.

In the United States, analysts argue that Morant will help take some of the offensive burden off Avdija's shoulders: "Deni cannot do it all alone. Ja will help."
