Defense Minister Israel Katz held a security assessment regarding multi-front escalation threats, including the third circle and ongoing clashes between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis. Katz ordered heightened readiness ahead of the upcoming elections due to concerns that Israel's enemies might attempt to disrupt the vote. Consequently, the IDF implemented strict measures, including a freeze on troop leave, reinforced command centers, and expanded intelligence collection.

Multi-Front Preparations and Regional Tensions

The IDF is completing its preparations across land, sea, air, and the spectrum domain for potential multi-front attacks involving Iran, Hezbollah, Iraqi Shiite militias, and the Houthis. Security officials noted that continuous attacks on the Houthis are draining their capabilities, posing significant logistical and operational challenges to the group. Additionally, Israel is coordinating its defense posture with the United States, given the presence of American military personnel and advanced air defense systems in the region.

Regarding the northern front, defense sources indicated that Hezbollah is attempting to rebuild its capabilities in Beirut. The IDF is preparing for a potential renewal of hostilities if Hezbollah decides to intervene in the event of an escalation involving Iran. Meanwhile, political tensions have flared, with Defense Minister Katz criticizing opposition leaders for undermining national deterrence by dismissing official security warnings regarding potential election-period attacks.

"Any future attacks against Israel will be blamed squarely on Yair Lapid, Naftali Bennett, Yair Golan, and their opposition colleagues," Katz stated, accusing them of undermining security warnings.

In response, opposition figures strongly condemned the remarks. Yashar! party leader Gadi Eisenkot rejected the statements, arguing that shifting political blame onto the opposition represents an unprecedented low for national leadership.
