Armand Duplantis

Greek pole vaulter Emmanouil Karalis ranks second behind world record holder Armand Duplantis, overcoming severe racism and aiming to break out of his rival's shadow.

The Diamond League will conclude this weekend in Brussels with fascinating competitions that may lead to several new world records, including improvements on those broken just last week. Highlights include the surprising rival of Armand Duplantis, the fastest Jamaican since Usain Bolt, and the dazzling duel in the 100m hurdles.

6.15 m earned the Swede the European title and the championship record. Emmanouil Karalis finished second and Baptiste Thiery celebrated his first international medal.
