For years, Yuval Dayan has touched an entire nation with her music, but since October 7, she felt something in her creative process shift. Having attended funerals to wrap families in comfort and solace, she experienced an internal detachment that ultimately influenced her musical work. In an interview with Galit and Ilanit, she spoke about the journey she has traversed over the past three years, addressed her return to religious observance, and shared her dream of finding love and starting a family.

Dayan recently released her seventh album, born this time from a very different place than she had previously known. Until now, her work focused on documenting her experiences and projecting them outward, but recently she felt compelled to offer words of comfort. "Just like what I tell myself on difficult nights, after the complex situations we go through," she explained. Attending funerals and memorial services required an emotional boundary so she could properly support others.

Navigating Fame and Self-Worth

Reflecting on her early days in the industry and her near-victory in a reality TV show, Dayan addressed the duality of her career. She spoke about experiencing imposter syndrome and learning to accept her own maturity. "I have an agreement with God, that every day He places this gift by my door, I say thank you. Nothing is taken for granted," she noted.

The year I decided that my self-worth is no longer dependent on achievements, I realized that all artists go through a kind of public offering, measured strictly by views and likes. I am no longer willing to play that game purely for validation.

Returning to Tradition and Future Dreams

Discussing her journey toward religious observance, Dayan explained that it stemmed from a desire to protect herself and stay grounded after achieving fame at a young age. Looking ahead, she shared her most deeply personal aspirations. "To build a home. It is a dream where you also have to let go of fears, agree to find the right partner, and build a future. I hope that by the upcoming holidays, I will have good news to share."
