Yoseph Haddad, the number two candidate on the "Amich Yisrael" party list, was notably absent today (Monday) from a major party publication regarding a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 events, following a recent storm over his past remarks regarding a Palestinian state.

The Controversy Over Past Statements

The publication follows the exposure of a 2021 interview given by Haddad to Al-Arabiya, in which he stated that "the final solution, God willing, is a Palestinian state." Following the disclosure, Haddad published a lengthy clarification, claiming he changed his position after Operation Guardian of the Walls and now firmly opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Yesterday, the "Amich Yisrael" party stood by him. In an official statement, the party claimed the remarks were "archival materials from years ago" and attacked Haddad's critics. Party leader Ofer Winter also broke his silence, stating: "I am proud of Yoseph Haddad," while rejecting calls to remove him from the electoral list.

Party Support and Conspicuous Absence

Winter added that "anyone who did not change their positions after October 7 is ignorant and foolish," emphasizing that the party does not intend to "throw our brothers under the bus." However, less than 24 hours after this public backing, the party released its outline for a special commission of inquiry into October 7. The promotional graphic featured four senior party figures, while Haddad—the number two on the list—was omitted.

"Yoseph, my brother, continue working with all your might for Israel, exactly as you know how to do," declared party leader Ofer Winter.

While the party has not announced any change in Haddad's status or indicated a formal decision to remove him from the campaign, his absence from the new promotional material stands out sharply against the backdrop of the ongoing public storm.
