Yesha Council Launches JSR Situation Room to Counter West Bank Disinformation
The Yesha Council launched the JSR information situation room to distribute field reports and counter negative media coverage regarding events in the West Bank.
The battle for public opinion regarding events in the West Bank has moved to global social media and international news outlets. Amid the olive harvest season, the Yesha Council launched JSR today, a situation room designed to gather reports, footage, and field data and distribute them in Hebrew and English. Through this initiative, the council aims to influence event coverage and counter reports that it claims harm the settlement movement and the state.
According to the council, the project was established following reports on regional incidents that later proved to be inaccurate or failed to present the full picture. The harvest season, during which field footage receives wide circulation, puts the situation room to an immediate test. The council intends for the facility to serve as a primary address for journalists and domestic and international entities seeking information and clarification on ongoing developments.
From the Field to Global Networks
The situation room, fully named the Judea and Samaria Situation Room, connects with regional security operation centers, farmers, and other field actors. The council states that it utilizes technological systems for gathering and monitoring information to formulate an updated situational picture. Its activities will also include monitoring events and developments in the Arab street and the Palestinian Authority.
Reports and footage will be distributed via WhatsApp, Telegram, and X. Alongside regular updates, the situation room will provide the media with analytical reviews and in-depth research. Operations in English are intended to expand information distribution and allow the council to reach foreign media outlets and international audiences directly.
"We invested the finest capabilities, technologies, and professionals to establish what has been missing here for years—the eyes of Judea and Samaria. A single source of information directly connected to the field, bringing the true picture of what is happening here," said Binyamin Regional Council Head and Yesha Council Chairman Israel Ganz.
Ganz added that the facility aims to combat what he termed a disinformation industry trying to turn fabricated claims into facts. Acting CEO Hagai Tam stated that the initiative successfully unites all relevant field elements under one roof to provide reliable and current data.
