Man Arrested After Rushing Yankee Stadium Field With Palestinian Flag on 9/11
Kelly Marcocci, 38, was arrested after running onto the Yankee Stadium field with a Palestinian flag on the anniversary of 9/11, following antisemitic conspiracy posts.
A 38-year-old New York resident, Kelly Marcocci, was identified as the individual who rushed onto the field at Yankee Stadium carrying a Palestinian flag on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. According to the New York Police Department, Marcocci jumped from the stands onto the field during a baseball game between the Yankees and the Mets.
Incident at Yankee Stadium
The pitch invasion occurred on Friday at 9:11 PM, a time symbolically linked to the 9/11 attacks. Marcocci ran toward center field waving the flag before security personnel intercepted and tackled him to the turf. Chants of "USA" echoed from the stands, and after he was escorted off the field, several spectators threw beer cans in his direction. He was wearing a baseball jersey with the slogan "No Kings" on the front, a phrase associated with protests against President Donald Trump.
Conspiracy Theories and Arrest
Hours before the incident, Marcocci published unfounded conspiratorial claims on Facebook linking Israel and the "Моссад" to the attacks. He alleged, without evidence, that the elite establishment collaborated with intelligence agencies on 9/11 and accused Zionism of being a tool for elites.
The incident interrupted a game that had opened with a memorial ceremony featuring 2001 Yankees players and families of victims. Marcocci was arrested and faces charges of trespassing and disrupting a professional sporting event, receiving a summons to appear in court at a later date.
