Man Killed in West Bank Shooting Attack, Suspect Captured by IDF

IDF forces captured a terrorist on Friday following a deadly shooting attack at the Ein Rayah spring near the community of Nof Tzuf in the West Bank. The victim was identified as Netanel Shakron, a 43-year-old father of six from Alei Zahav.
Details of the Attack
Shakron had arrived at the spring with his eldest son to immerse themselves ahead of Yom Kippur when a terrorist opened fire, critically injuring him. Despite prolonged resuscitation efforts at the hospital, medical teams were forced to pronounce him dead.
Following the shooting, security forces launched an intensive manhunt for the fleeing gunman. Duvdevan fighters located and apprehended the suspect after he fled to a nearby hospital.
Official Responses
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued statements expressing deep sorrow and condemning the attack. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and the head of the Central Command conducted a field assessment to coordinate reinforced security measures across the region.
"We expect the government and the senior command to shift from defense to offense, launch operations throughout the area, and restore security checkpoints," said Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council.
