IDF cuts off Hezbollah from supplies: growing concern in Beirut
According to reports from Lebanon, the IDF struck water tanks and supply routes at a Hezbollah facility, and downed UAVs attempting to deliver water to besieged terrorists. Lebanese sources claim the combat readiness of Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Guards in the area is deteriorating. In Beirut, officials estimate that American pressure alone will not suffice to secure further IDF withdrawals.
The Lebanese newspaper "Nidaa al-Watan" reported on Tuesday that the IDF has tightened its siege around a Hezbollah facility known as "Imad 4" on the Ali-Taher ridge. According to the report, the IDF severed the water supply line after striking the facility's water tanks. Subsequently, it was reported that Hezbollah attempted to transfer additional water tanks via UAVs overnight, but IDF forces identified the smuggling attempt and shot down several drones.
A Lebanese security source stated:
"The fierce battles taking place around the Ali-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon confirm that Israel is determined to take control of the ridge, no matter the cost."
According to the source, the IDF launched this operation without prior announcement, indicating the secrecy of the maneuver. He added that the combat situation for Hezbollah and Revolutionary Guard terrorists is poor, particularly regarding supply lines, as the IDF controls the ridge and its exit routes.
Against this backdrop, there is pessimism in Beirut regarding the negotiation process. Lebanese sources stated that American pressure alone will not be enough to bring about further IDF withdrawals. According to them, while Washington may push for the renewal of contacts, it cannot by itself create a new reality on the ground.
Meanwhile, Lebanese sources reported in Arab media that Hezbollah is working to dig tunnels and underground passages around the Ali-Taher ridge to create alternative supply lines for its besieged operatives. The digging accelerated after Israel identified several supply routes used by the terrorists.
A Lebanese military source noted that recent IDF strikes on bridges and forests indicate the presence of intelligence regarding Hezbollah's supply routes. According to an Arab report, Israel successfully recruited individuals associated with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, who provided intelligence on these routes. Recent days have seen reports of Hezbollah fatalities, alongside the destruction of weapons and equipment.
