"Iran is officially a failed state. It is dead!", Trump wrote. According to him, Iran has "no navy, no air force, and no currency," and he even claimed that the regime is not paying soldiers and police officers and that inflation in the country has reached 300%.
Trump added that the Iranian leadership is, in his words, in "total chaos" and is unable to properly represent the country. He further addressed the suppression of protests in Iran and claimed that more than 100,000 people have been killed.
"They must be prosecuted for war crimes against humanity," the American president wrote. He concluded his remarks by stating that all the regime has left is "fake news from the USA" and "a lot of bullshit."
The remarks come against the backdrop of the escalation between Washington and Tehran and Iranian threats to respond to recent US actions in the region.
