A Tel Aviv District Court has sentenced a 78-year-old grandfather to 15 years in prison and ordered him to pay 200,000 shekels in compensation to his three granddaughters after he confessed to a systematic campaign of severe sexual abuse.
The judges emphasized that the defendant exploited his familial status, the trust placed in him by the young girls, and the natural dependency that existed between them. The offenses destroyed the family unit and inflicted severe psychological and emotional trauma on the victims.

The defendant was convicted based on his confession to an amended indictment detailing repeated offenses against three granddaughters when they were aged six, seven, and eight. The plea agreement was reached during mediation proceedings before Tel Aviv District Court President, Judge Gilad Neital, prior to the evidentiary stage.
Prosecutor Adv. Koral Sarig Papo from the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office urged the court to accept the plea deal, noting that it was approved by the victims and their legal counsel, and that the confession spared the young girls from testifying in court.
"The defendant carried out a severe and ongoing campaign of grave sexual offenses against his own young granddaughters, abusing his familial standing and absolute trust," the judges stated in their ruling.
