Haifa Announces Free Blue-and-White Parking for Sukkot Holiday Visitors
Haifa municipality announced free blue-and-white parking across the city throughout the Sukkot holiday, from September 25 to October 2, to support tourism and commerce.
Planning to visit Haifa during the upcoming Sukkot holiday? The municipality has announced that parking in all blue-and-white zones across the city will be completely free of charge.
The festive initiative will take effect starting Friday, September 25, and will run through Friday, October 2. The move aims to ease traffic congestion, support local commerce and tourism, and allow visitors to enjoy Haifa's cultural attractions without worrying about parking meters or apps.
However, the municipality emphasized that the exemption applies exclusively to regulated blue-and-white parking. The municipal enforcement department will continue full operations, strictly penalizing severe parking violations.
Fines will still be issued for parking in red-and-white zones, blocking public transportation lanes including Metronit and bus stations, occupying accessible spaces for people with disabilities, and any parking that endangers pedestrians or disrupts traffic flow.
This parking announcement follows another notable municipal initiative. In January 2026, the Haifa municipality legal advisor, attorney Inbal Ben Ari, submitted an exceptional request to waive late fees on old parking fines to alleviate debt burdens for residents.
