As the new season of Survivor premieres in Israel, we look back at five of the most iconic winners in the reality show's history, from strategic pioneers to unforgettable underdogs.
As the new season of the reality hit "Survivor" hits television screens, the fierce battle for the coveted title of the ultimate survivor and the one-million-shekel grand prize has officially resumed. Over the years, hundreds of contestants have braved harsh conditions, endured grueling physical challenges, and hatched intricate alliances on remote shores. Yet only a handful managed to fully decode the game and leave an enduring mark. Following the relighting of the tribal torches, we look back at five of the most influential and unforgettable winners in the franchise's Israeli history.
Naama Casri, winner of the inaugural Caribbean season, established the bedrock of local game strategy. Proving early on that the reality show is primarily a psychological and social chess match, Casri deftly navigated shifting power dynamics to defeat Noam Tor and Dan Mano in the final tribal council, setting a gold standard for generations of future players.
Itay Segev triumphed during the franchise's first VIP edition. In a season dominated by imposing athletic titans, the comedian proved that razor-sharp wit and tactical modesty can triumph over pure muscle. Through a subtle underdog strategy and unwavering loyalty to his core allies, Segev secured one of the most surprising and celebrated victories in the show's history.
Liron "Tiltil" Orpheli captured the hearts of the nation during the Honduras season. The working-class taxi driver brought raw authenticity, profound emotional depth, and relentless warmth to an otherwise cutthroat environment, proving that genuine human connection can sometimes surpass cold, calculated gameplay.
Natan Bashkin completed a remarkable redemption arc during the All-Stars season. After falling victim to a premature elimination in his initial run, Bashkin returned with unmatched fighting spirit, physical dominance, and personal charisma, sweeping the entire country off its feet to claim both the ultimate title and the audience's adoration.
Assi Buzaglo dominated the 2020 VIP edition, leading one of the most volatile and talked-about seasons in television history. Exercising absolute control over his ironclad alliance, Buzaglo navigated intense scrutiny and high-stakes drama to secure victory at a historic final tribal council. As a new crop of contestants steps onto the sand to test their limits, viewers eagerly await to see who will join this legendary roster.
