Shin Bet Joins Extortion Probe After Businessman’s Home Targeted
The Shin Bet has joined a police investigation into the extortion of a prominent Israeli businessman working with the Ministry of Defense after criminals hurled a grenade and opened fire at his home.

A prominent businessman from central Israel, who frequently works with the Ministry of Defense, has become the target of an extortion scheme by a known criminal organization. After winning a tender and starting his work, criminals approached him to demand protection money. Following his refusal, the suspects escalated their campaign of intimidation.
Roughly two and a half months ago, a fragmentation grenade was hurled at his residence. On the same day, two masked suspects arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at his home. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, the Israel Police decided to involve the Shin Bet, which has now joined the investigation.
A source familiar with the details of the probe stated, "Everyone who carried out the shooting and threw the grenade, as well as those who sent them, will be arrested and pay a heavy price."
