A year and a half after deciding to end her marriage, Sapir Burgil still finds herself legally married to Avraham Aklum. She feels that her biggest dream of becoming a mother is being held hostage in the ongoing battle for a get (divorce decree). Aklum recently attacked her publicly once again, but this time, after a visit to the Baba Sali, Burgil says she is no longer planning to filter herself. In a candid interview with makocelebs, held at an event in Tel Aviv's Beach Club alongside Terminal X, the reality TV star hurled accusations at her ex and made it clear what she wants more than anything: to close this chapter of her life and start over.

How did it happen that you are finally speaking out? Ever since I visited the Baba Sali, something shifted inside me, something opened up. I tell myself that if God is with me, what can mere mortals do? Speak your truth, say what is on your mind. Silence causes a lot of damage. When was your visit to the Baba Sali? On the exact day when I posted on Instagram stories and people thought I turned into Britney Spears? Well, that was the day before. I asked him to give me the courage to speak, to tell the truth, and to make sure my words matter. Usually, I tend to ramble, but this time I was precise. I said what I needed to say, and it felt so good. Ever since that day, I speak my mind.

When you say you speak out, does that also include responding to all the madness that followed the documentary about your difficult year? Yes. It hurt me. I had something to say, and I said it. The Sapir of the past would have just brushed it off, but it wasn't funny. It hurt me deeply. So yes, I am going to speak up about what hurts me. When I chose to stay silent in the past, I paid a heavy price. So today, whatever causes me pain, I call out immediately.

Maybe making that documentary was a mistake? I honestly cannot tell you. The documentary didn't really tell my true story. Ultimately, I don't feel like it contributed anything positive to me or to what I wanted to express. But whatever I had to say, I said it on my stories, and I think I clarified everything. I didn't even share a quarter of what I went through, and I don't know if I ever will. I am already past that stage. I feel like I've purged it all. I am in a completely new place.

Did the editors also pick out out-of-context soundbites that grabbed all the attention? Out-of-context soundbites are the story of my life. Every single journalist and every headline that pops up always uses the least appropriate quote, making us look bad—like a dysfunctional family. We are not. We are good people, we don't do evil, we don't look for trouble, and I am not looking for fights. I want to live my life. I am not fighting with anyone. I always advocate for the good, I respond kindly, and I don't want to hurt anyone. I am not building a career out of this drama, sorry.

We were certain your divorce was finalized and that you would meet in court. What happened? We were supposed to meet in court on that specific day with the cameras rolling, and that is precisely why he didn't show up. It is an absolute lie on his part because he had already filed an appeal a few days prior; he never planned on attending anyway. It just turned out that the court date and the documentary filming fell on the exact same day. I knew he wouldn't show up. We were with the production crew, and I said let's just make sure he's not there and leave, and that's exactly what happened. It hurts. You keep claiming how much you want to cut ties with me, how much you hate me, and how much we hurt you and your family. So just give me a get! What is the big deal? Why are you holding onto me?

How do we finally end this story? We need Avraham to show up at the rabbinical court and grant me a get. That is all we need. Absolutely.

Is it really just hanging on that single point? Is there any demand coming from your side? There are zero demands from my side. There is no financial dispute here. It is purely about the get, period. Any financial disagreement or other issues can be discussed separately. It doesn't work as a package deal. You cannot hold a get hostage and use it for negotiations, saying 'give me this and that or I'll keep your get.' A year and a half has passed, and I am stuck in an endless loop. The rabbinical court even told him: 'Listen sir, enough is enough. Get is separate, money is separate. Give her the get.'

You mentioned that this is holding you back from freezing your eggs and starting the process of bringing a child into the world. I cannot do anything. My biggest dream in life is to become a mother, but I cannot pursue it because I am trapped inside a marriage. It is difficult; I am not young anymore, I am 33 years old.

Is there anyone who can step in and reset this situation? Only God, and apparently He decides that these are the things that must happen at this time. But I really want to push a stroller already, and I really want to be a mother. It is a pity that in the year 2026, such a basic thing is even up for debate—that a couple who no longer wants to be together can just break apart, and nobody should hold anyone against their will. It also terrifies me for the future. Should I ever get married again, or not?

When there are no children involved, a breakup is supposed to be much easier. As simple as it gets. It shouldn't take a single day longer than necessary. But when there is one side who actually benefits from this situation because it keeps them relevant and in the headlines—well, you can notice that ever since I posted that video speaking out, the guy has completely vanished. No stories, no posts, nothing. That surely speaks volumes.

Is there a chance he is holding onto this for publicity? To stay in the headlines as long as there is chatter about the divorce? Absolutely, there is no other reason. I don't see any other headlines about him that aren't connected to me or my family in some way.

Shall we wish that the next time you make news, it will be about happier topics? Oh, I am waiting for that so much! I want you to ask me, 'Who is that guy you're dating?' and I'll reply, 'We're just at the beginning, I can't talk about it yet.' Those are the conversations I want to have, and that day will come too.

When is the next court hearing so we can keep our fingers crossed that this story finally ends? God willing, in a month. There was supposed to be a hearing right now, but it clashed with a flight I had booked in advance, so it was postponed. Every delay is for the best, everything is fine, and whatever needs to happen will happen. I am waiting for it very much.
