Israel Railways reported that a 32-year-old man was struck by a passing train after entering the tracks illegally in the Atlit area. Emergency response teams rushed to the scene and provided initial treatment. The victim sustained moderate injuries and was evacuated by Magen David Adom (MDA) to Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa.

Rail Disruptions and Safety Incidents

Following the unusual incident, authorities noted that while train traffic continued on the adjacent parallel track, delays were expected along the coastal line between Haifa and Tel Aviv as operations concluded.

A similar incident occurred earlier on Tuesday at the Haifa Bat Galim station, where a 50-year-old man entered the restricted track area and was struck by a passing train. Emergency teams provided first aid before he was transferred to Rambam Health Care Campus suffering from limb injuries. Israel Railways stated that traffic operated on adjacent tracks with minor delays.

Infrastructure Works and Schedule Changes

Separately, Israel Railways announced life-saving infrastructure works in the Ashdod area aimed at improving service and travel safety. Consequently, train schedules will be modified on Friday, October 23.

  • Trains on the Beersheba-Herzliya line will operate in a split configuration between Beersheba Center and Ashkelon, and between Yavne West and Herzliya.

  • Trains on the Ashkelon-Binyamina line will terminate and start at Rehovot.

  • Free shuttle buses will be provided by Israel Railways, with regular service resuming after Saturday night.

"We urge the public to strictly follow safety guidelines and avoid entering railway tracks under any circumstances," company officials reiterated, reminding passengers to check updates via official channels.
