During searches of residential compounds amid family feuds, officers discovered two handguns, magazines, and ammunition, arresting two suspects on the spot. In a separate operation, police intercepted a suspicious vehicle and recovered an M-16 rifle with magazines, taking the driver into custody. Following additional reports of gunfire related to clan disputes, forces tracked down and arrested two more suspects.
All five detainees are Rahat residents in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. They were transferred to the local police station for interrogation and will be brought before a court for custody extensions. Superintendent Yona Yitzhak, commander of the Rahat station, stated that police maintain zero tolerance for illegal arms and shooting offenses, pledging to continue targeted operations to safeguard local residents.
