Rahat Resident Indicted for Armed Gas Station Robbery
Prosecutors filed an indictment against a Rahat resident in his 20s for robbing a local gas station at knifepoint or with a wooden plank, stealing 700 shekels.
The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment in the Beersheba District Court against a resident of Rahat in his 20s, charging him with the armed robbery of a local gas station last July.
Security footage from the incident, which occurred on July 16, shows a masked suspect approaching the station brandishing a wooden plank, threatening the attendant, and demanding cash. After the attendant refused, the suspect forced his way into the booth, physically engaged with the worker, stole approximately 700 shekels from the register, and fled the scene.
Police stated that investigators from the Rahat station swiftly launched a probe, gathering evidence and testimonies that established a solid evidentiary foundation leading to the suspect's arrest and subsequent indictment. Rahat station investigations officer, Chief Inspector Tzvika Michael, emphasized that law enforcement will continue to act with determination against violent crimes and robberies to bring offenders to justice.
