Israel Police Target Distracted Driving in Major Krayot Traffic Operation
Israel Police conducted a targeted traffic operation in the Krayot area, issuing 53 tickets for distracted driving and road bullying while impounding multiple vehicles.
Zevulun police officers from the Asher region, alongside municipal policing teams from Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Yam, and Kiryat Motzkin, conducted a targeted traffic operation focusing on life-endangering offenses and road bullying.
The operation placed special emphasis on enforcing laws against distracted driving, which is a major and fatal factor in severe traffic accidents. For creative and precise enforcement, the forces utilized advanced technological means, including tactical cameras, still cameras, and speed measurement devices.
During the operation, 53 traffic tickets were issued for distracted driving, road bullying, and safety violations. Three vehicles were impounded and taken off the road with prohibition orders, two vehicles were towed, hearings were held for two drivers due to the severity of their offenses, and dozens of fines totaling hundreds of shekels were distributed.
"The Israel Police will continue to operate all operational and technological means at its disposal, both openly and covertly, to deter reckless drivers and protect the lives of all road users," the police stated.
