Israel Police Warns Public Against Traffic Fine SMS Phishing Scam

Israel Police issued a public warning on Wednesday regarding fraudulent SMS messages impersonating official police notices and the traffic fines center. The phishing texts demand immediate payment for traffic violations via an attached malicious link.

Authorities stressed that these messages are entirely fake and designed to deceive citizens into handing over sensitive personal data and credit card information.

Police urged the public to refrain from clicking on the provided links or sharing any financial details, recommending the immediate deletion of the suspicious texts.

"The public is asked to remain vigilant and verify any payment requests exclusively through official channels," the police stated, pointing citizens to the official online traffic fine payment portal managed by the Enforcement and Collection Authority.
