A 34-year-old resident of Herzliya faces imminent indictment following a fatal violent altercation that erupted during a drinking session in the city, police and prosecutors announced. The Yarkon Precinct's Anti-Crime Unit led the investigation into the incident, which ultimately claimed the victim's life.

The case began on August 22, when police received an emergency report regarding a violent episode at an apartment in Herzliya. Officers responding to the scene discovered an unconscious man suffering from severe traumatic injuries. Emergency medical teams administered initial treatment on-site and rushed him in critical condition to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba.

For approximately three weeks, medical staff fought to save the victim's life while he remained sedated and on a ventilator. On September 12, the victim succumbed to his injuries, prompting investigators to intensify their probe into the circumstances of the fatal confrontation.

According to the investigative findings, the suspect and the victim had been consuming alcohol together in the apartment. An argument subsequently broke out between them, during which the 34-year-old suspect allegedly launched a severe physical assault, inflicting the critical injuries that led to the victim's death.

Investigators from the Yarkon Precinct secured multiple extensions of the suspect's detention through the courts as the inquiry progressed. With the evidentiary framework now fully established, prosecutors have submitted a formal prosecutor's statement signaling their intent to file a comprehensive criminal indictment alongside a request to hold the suspect in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
