A senior Israel Police official has launched a harsh attack on the IDF following a large-scale surprise military exercise initiated on Sunday, claiming that the decision to exclude the police proves that the lessons of October 7 have not been internalized.

Speaking to the media, the senior official described the exclusion of the police force from the surprise drill as a "disgrace."

"The military is conducting a surprise exercise, and it is a disgrace that the police were not included. We have learned nothing from October 7."

The official warned that failing to integrate the police into the national security concept would carry a heavy price for the country:

"The military tells the police nothing. A surprise exercise like this shows that lessons have not been internalized. The military has not learned. If the police are not part of the security concept, the country will pay dearly. They must wake up."

He further emphasized that while police officers do not seek to replace soldiers, the force remains an indispensable component of national defense.

Following the unilateral military drill, the IDF and the Israel Police did conduct a pre-planned joint exercise in Eilat on Monday, simulating a terrorist infiltration scenario into the southern resort city.
