Peki'in to Host Farmers' Market to Revive Tourism in Israel's North
The village of Peki'in in northern Israel is hosting the "Totoret HaAretz" farmers' market on October 9-10 to revive local tourism and community life following years of security challenges.
Following three complex and challenging years for northern communities, the village of Peki'in is seeking to restore tourism and community activity by reopening to visitors. This upcoming weekend, October 9-10, the "Totoret HaAretz" farmers' market will take place at the Spring Square, operating on both days from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The market will be held in the heart of Peki'in's ancient core, near the spring and surrounded by heritage sites, picturesque alleys, diverse traditions, and Galilee landscapes. Throughout the two-day event, local producers and business owners will set up booths alongside food stalls in the square.
Alongside the booths, free workshops will be offered, including embroidery, stuffed vine leaves cooking, olives and olive oil, crafting, soaps and oils, honey, and painting. Visitors will also be able to participate in additional activity stations and a tractor tour.
The market aims to provide a platform for local produce and the people behind it, while encouraging travelers and families to return to Peki'in, support local businesses, and combine their market visit with tours of the village and its heritage sites.
The event follows a prolonged period during which the security situation significantly impacted tourism, commerce, and daily life in the north, marking another step toward the revival of activity and hospitality in the region.
The "Totoret HaAretz" market will take place on October 9-10, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Spring Square in Peki'in. Admission to the market, activities, and workshops is free of charge. The event is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Negev, Galilee and National Resilience.
