Several vacationers suffered burns of varying degrees on Monday after a portable gas stove exploded at Tzinbari Beach on the Sea of Galilee, triggering a sudden blaze.
According to an initial investigation, the vacationers lit a small gas stove while another canister was placed nearby. At a certain point, one of the stoves exploded, igniting a fire that injured several people present at the scene.
Police forces and Magen David Adom (MDA) teams rushed to the location, providing initial medical treatment to the injured before evacuating them to Poria Hospital.
Arik Tal, director of the inspection unit at the Sea of Galilee Towns Association, noted that several incidents involving gas stove flare-ups have occurred at the beaches during the swimming season. He emphasized that extreme caution must be exercised when using them, especially on hot days, by protecting them from direct sunlight and never placing one stove near another.
