The 55th Paratroopers Reserve Brigade has completed an 80-day operational tour in southern Lebanon, focusing on clearing areas up to the Yellow Line. The brigade destroyed over 600 terror infrastructures, including weapon depots, shafts, and launchers hidden inside residential structures.

Operational Shift

Following the intensive phase, the brigade is being relieved by the Bislamach Brigade and the Gafen Battalion. Security officials noted that the operational doctrine has shifted from static defense to active forward defense, establishing deep security perimeters to protect northern Israeli communities.

"We do not defend from the gate; we defend Nahariya from Majdal Zun, 12 kilometers deep, creating depth, offensive defense, and adequate breathing room," a senior security source explained.

Challenges and Casualties

During recent operations, two separate operational accidents occurred, injuring several IDF soldiers, including two in serious and moderate condition due to a grenade malfunction. The military continues to adapt to complex threats, including explosive drones, while maintaining readiness along the Lebanese border.
