Jerusalem Court to Weigh Detainee's Request to Attend Sister's Wedding
The Jerusalem District Court will review an appeal to grant detained Tal Yinon Dardik temporary leave to attend his sister's wedding, amid police opposition and a hunger strike.

The Jerusalem District Court is scheduled to hear an appeal on Sunday filed by the Honenu organization, requesting a temporary release for detained Tal Yinon Dardik to attend his sister's wedding. Dardik's attorney slammed the police opposition as punitive and vindictive.
Dardik sought a short-term release on bail to attend the family celebration, but faced opposition from the Judea and Samaria police prosecution. The appeal will be heard by the Jerusalem District Court, with attorney Moshe Polsky representing Dardik from the legal aid organization.
Humanitarian Rights and Legal Background
Attorney Nati Rom, who submitted the petition, stated: "The police and prosecution's decision to prevent my client from attending his sister's wedding is driven by nothing other than vindictiveness and an attempt to humiliate and break his spirit. We believe the Magistrates' Court's decision was entirely flawed."
"This is a humanitarian and fundamental right granted as a matter of course even to detainees charged with far more severe offenses, and certainly there is no grounds to deny it to someone whose entire 'offense' stems from a disputed administrative order."
Security officials indicate that the administrative order against Dardik was issued based on classified intelligence regarding suspected involvement in a violent incident in Khirbet Humsa in the Jordan Valley. While authorities claim evidence places him at the scene, insufficient evidence exists to file a formal indictment.
Dardik denies any involvement and maintains he was not present. His current detention stems from alleged violations of an administrative restriction order signed by OC Central Command, rather than an indictment for the Khirbet Humsa incident. Dardik is currently held at the Russian Compound detention facility and has been on a hunger strike.
