October 7 Victims' Families Launch Joint Press Conference Ahead of Elections
Families of October 7 victims, hostages, and fallen IDF soldiers are holding a joint press conference in Tel Aviv titled "Opening the October 7 File" to demand accountability ahead of the upcoming elections.
Families bearing the deepest scars of the October 7 massacre are organizing as the election campaign heats up. Today at 15:00, a group of representatives from hostage families, Nova festival victims, fallen IDF soldiers, and Gaza envelope residents will hold a joint press conference ahead of the upcoming elections, titled "Opening the October 7 File."
The event, taking place at the Council for a Beautiful Israel on Rokach Boulevard in Tel Aviv, aims to place the national tragedy and the demand for accountability at the center of the political discourse. The scheduled speaker list includes Einav Zangauker, mother of captive survivor Matan Zangauker, who will speak alongside Lishi Miran, a former hostage herself and wife of captive survivor Omri Miran.
In addition, Naomi Or Ofek will speak, representing relatives of captive survivors Liam, Noam, and Alma Or, as well as Dror and Yonat Or, of blessed memory, who were murdered in Kibbutz Be'eri. They will be joined by relatives of hostages murdered in Hamas captivity, including Noam Perry, daughter of the late Chaim Perry; Merav Svirsky, whose brother Itai was murdered in captivity and whose parents Orit and Rafi were murdered in Be'eri; Gil Dickman, cousin of the late Carmel Gat, who was murdered in captivity, and nephew of Kineret Gat; and Michel Illouz, father of the late Guy Illouz.
The press conference will also feature representation from bereaved families across other circles of the Iron Swords war. Prof. Efi Shoham, father of the late Staff Sgt. Yuval Shoham, who fell in battle in the Gaza Strip, is expected to speak as a representative of families of fallen IDF soldiers. The Nova festival community will be represented by Shelly Masal-Yogev, mother of the late Libi Cohen Maguri, and Natalia Kasroti, mother of the late Keshet, both of whom were murdered in the massacre at the Re'im festival.
