Noa Argamani, a survivor of Hamas captivity, has officially joined the Israeli-American venture capital fund Vine Ventures following a brief internship.
Argamani, who was abducted alongside her former partner Avinatan Or from the Supernova music festival on October 7, 2023, and rescued in 2024 during Operation Arnon, spoke with Business Insider about her new role.
Joining Vine Ventures
"At this stage, if I want to learn and make an impact, a venture capital fund is the place for me — I want to be surrounded by people with big dreams," Argamani told the magazine.
She added that her mission is to help Israeli startups reach global markets and break boundaries. Argamani was kidnapped from the festival, driven away on a motorcycle, and held in the home of an Al Jazeera journalist until her rescue in June 2024. The IDF and the Shin Bet announced they eliminated the motorcycle driver involved in her abduction.
Tech Focus and AI Projects
Argamani spoke about her studies at Ben-Gurion University, which were interrupted by the tragedy. Upon returning to her studies, she developed AI-based projects analyzing anti-Israel rhetoric across various countries and presented a venture aimed at helping children on the autism spectrum.
"I felt that returning to software development would be a waste — I wanted a career with impact, to change something in the world," Argamani said.
Eric Reiner, founder of Vine Ventures — formerly an investor at Insight Partners and business development manager at Dynamic Yield — offered her an internship last April.
"In a venture capital fund, I can help more than one company at a time," Argamani noted, leveraging her extensive network spanning San Francisco, New York, and Tel Aviv. Vine Ventures manages $500 million, with investments including Kudo and Wonderful.
