Israeli Defense Tech Startup Esh-Tech Announces Key Executive Appointments
Israeli defense tech startup Esh-Tech has announced key executive appointments, including a new CFO and VP of R&D, following its $18 million funding round to scale its drone-defense laser systems globally.

Israeli defense tech startup Esh-Tech, which is developing an advanced tactical laser system to counter drone threats, has announced a series of key executive appointments following its recent $18 million funding round in June.
Expanding Leadership and Operations
Amid global expansion, the company has appointed Aviad Lahav as Chief Financial Officer. Lahav will oversee financial and logistical management, building the operational and financial infrastructure needed to scale Esh-Tech into a robust global enterprise. He brings extensive executive experience, having served as CFO of Mer Group and as a Senior Manager at PwC.
In addition to Lahav, the company appointed three other senior executives to strengthen its leadership team:
-
Oren Mechany as VP of R&D, bringing years of expertise in electro-optical systems from Elbit Systems' Elop and Israel Aerospace Industries.
-
Michal Chomsky-Hazalman as Head of Corporate Development, leveraging over two decades of experience in public and corporate sectors, including Teva Pharmaceuticals.
-
Yael Tzadiki as VP of Human Resources and Compliance, formerly holding HR leadership roles at Madison and IXI Mobile.
Scaling Up Production
Founded in 2023 by CEO Erez Riahi and CTO Dr. Shmuel Greenstein, Esh-Tech focuses on developing the DroneLight system. This mobile tactical laser utilizes short, high-energy pulses to neutralize drones within seconds while consuming significantly less power than continuous-wave laser systems.
"Esh-Tech is in a period of significant growth, transitioning from technological development to operational systems delivered to customers worldwide," said Erez Riahi, CEO and co-founder of Esh-Tech.
