Arabic media reports identify the terrorist behind the fatal attack near Neve Tzuf as Qadri Muhammad Samara, a resident of the Arab village of Biddu located between Har Adar and Givat Ze'ev.
Having been captured alive, he could potentially become the first terrorist to face the death penalty under a newly enacted law. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir demanded the mandatory enforcement of the execution, stating that the law must be applied.
In contrast, Yulia Malinovsky of Yisrael Beytenu expressed skepticism, arguing that the legislation is merely performative and that the terrorist will ultimately serve a prison sentence rather than face execution.
The terrorist, who killed an Israeli civilian near Neve Tzuf, was apprehended by IDF forces at a hospital in Ramallah. Egoz and Duvdevan unit fighters located him on a ventilator after he sustained injuries from a tracker who fired at him during the attack.
