Incident at Maastricht University
The controversy began when 22-year-old Hussain Isa, a Palestinian student from Gaza studying in the Netherlands, shared footage on social media. In the video, Isa is seen watching footage of the October 7 atrocities alongside other students, pointing to the screen with a thumbs-up and smiling while stating, "Seventh of October. This is me." Following public outrage and security concerns, Maastricht University suspended the student, barring him from all academic activities pending further review.
Political Outcry and Calls for Resignation
Lawmaker Annette Raijer from the Party for Freedom (PVV) launched a scathing attack on Education Minister Rianne Letschert of the D66 party, accusing her of sympathizing with extremists and demanding her resignation.
D66 minister Letschert is a jihadist hugger. First the Muslim Brotherhood, now an Islamic terrorist at the university in Maastricht. Deport him and this minister must resign.
Geert Wilders echoed these sentiments on social media, dismissing the suspension as insufficient and calling for the student's immediate deportation, while also heavily criticizing Minister Letschert for allowing him entry into the academic institution.
