The Israel Police and the Border Police (MAGAV) announced the death of Border Police officer Sergeant David Hoyer Amrani, who was killed in a shooting incident in Netanya.

Sergeant David Hoyer Amrani, 20, a resident of Netanya, enlisted for his compulsory service in the Border Police in August 2024. Upon completing his training, he was stationed in Hebron under the Judea and Samaria Border Police division, and eight months ago transferred to Company 39 of the Judea and Samaria Border Police. He is survived by his parents and two brothers.

According to the police investigation, a suspect armed with a long weapon arrived at the scene and opened fire at the officers. All forces present, including Border Police officers and police personnel, responded quickly and neutralized the suspect.

Police officials stated that they are currently investigating a suspicion that the deceased officer suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
