The Central District Prosecutor's Office filed a severe 16-count indictment today (Thursday) at the Petah-Tikva Magistrate's Court against 31-year-old Margot Gesi Sitbon from Netanya, charging her with fraud, forgery, theft, and obtaining property by false pretenses under aggravating circumstances.

According to the indictment, Sitbon operated nationwide in recent years using a systematic and cold-blooded modus operandi. She would contact private sellers via Facebook Marketplace, commit to purchasing various items, and present false evidence of money transfers. In some cases, she provided victims with stolen checks and gave false information regarding them.

In recent weeks, dozens of complaints and testimonies regarding Sitbon's actions reached the "Swindlers Desk" investigative team. Following the investigation, the team located Sitbon in the field and initiated a filmed confrontation, asking her to respond to the severe allegations made by dozens of victims.

A violent altercation erupted at the scene, and the reporting crew, including journalist Adva Dadon, were physically attacked by Sitbon and her companions. Police and MDA forces were summoned to the scene, and following a police pursuit, Sitbon was arrested. Her remand was extended three times by the court, culminating in today's filing of the indictment.

The full investigative report will be broadcast soon on the main evening news edition.
