The Israel Police are investigating threats directed at Dikla Rezi, the mother of Benayahu Rezi, after she filed a formal complaint against Edna Levy. Levy is the mother of Linor Sasson—who is charged with accessory to murder—and the grandmother of Avior Sasson, the primary suspect in the murder.

According to Rezi, Levy has subjected her to ongoing threats, harassment, and defamation. "We fear an escalation. This is a living hell for us," Rezi stated. Approximately a month ago, Levy was questioned by police after arriving at the hospital where her daughter is hospitalized, allegedly carrying a falsified legal document claiming she was authorized to visit her daughter at any time.

The murder of Benayahu Rezi took place in July 2026 at a vacation apartment in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem, leading to severe indictments against seven individuals, including members of the Sasson family. According to the indictment, following a personal dispute, Avior Sasson allegedly stabbed Rezi in the chest, causing his death. Sasson maintains he acted in self-defense.

Linor Sasson is charged with accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice. Prosecutors allege she participated in the preliminary planning at her home, drove the armed group to the murder scene, and helped her son and other suspects flee. Last month, she was evacuated to a hospital following a suspected stroke, just days after reporting severe headaches, vision impairment, and mobility difficulties.

Last week, three months after the murder, the Jerusalem District Court ruled that insufficient evidence exists to substantiate murder charges against Agam Tzarfi, Benayahu Rezi's ex-girlfriend, and Shilat Chuta. Defense attorneys Roy Politi and Omri Stern, representing Tzarfi on behalf of the Public Defender's Office, noted that the court nonetheless indicated that prima facie evidence supports a charge of accessory to murder.
