Nazareth Police Arrest Repeat Drug-Impaired Driver with 30 Violations
A 22-year-old repeat offender was arrested in Nazareth for suspected drug-impaired driving, marking his fourth such arrest alongside dozens of prior traffic violations.
A 22-year-old resident of Yafa an-Naseriyye was arrested in Nazareth on Monday evening on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. According to the Israel Police, this is the fourth time he has been caught for this suspected offense. He has a record of more than 30 previous traffic violations and is currently serving a two-month suspended prison sentence.
The young man was apprehended during an enforcement operation conducted by Nazareth police officers and Border Police forces. Following his interrogation, he was detained, and a hearing was held to confiscate his vehicle. He was scheduled to be brought before the Nazareth Traffic Magistrate's Court on Tuesday morning.
During the operation, more than 40 traffic fines were issued. Three vehicles were impounded for 30 days and drivers' licenses were revoked for offenses including driving without a license, driving under the influence of drugs, and refusing a drug test. Additionally, ten two-wheeled vehicles were taken off the road, and 14 fines were issued to bicycle and motorcycle riders.
