The national lottery corporation, Mifal HaPayis, announced an increase in the monthly subscription price for its "Payis Subscription" (Manuy Payis), raising it from 60 to 70 NIS per month, marking a 16.7 percent hike. The changes were published in the official gazette and will take effect on March 4, 2027, alongside a comprehensive restructuring of the prize package.

The subscription plan allows participants to enter five monthly draws automatically without needing to purchase individual tickets. Following the price adjustment, the annual cost per subscription will rise from 720 to 840 NIS. Mifal HaPayis stated that the adjustment was planned long in advance in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, dismissing links to recent public criticism regarding declining winning odds amid a growing subscriber base, which grew from approximately 710,000 in January to about 746,000 in October.

Prize Package Updates and Vacation Cuts

The reform introduces significant changes to cash prizes and secondary rewards. The grand prize for the first draw of each month will increase by 20 percent, rising from 1.5 million to 1.8 million NIS for a single winner. Subsequent draws will distribute higher amounts across various tiers, with the fourth prize increasing from 5,000 to 6,000 NIS and the sixth prize increasing from 100 to 140 NIS while expanding the number of winning draws.

Conversely, the allocation for couples' vacations will face a steep reduction. The number of monthly vacation packages awarded will drop from 75 to 50, with the estimated value of each vacation decreasing from 30,000 to 27,000 NIS. Consequently, the total estimated monthly value of vacation prizes will plummet by 40 percent, dropping from 2.25 million to 1.35 million NIS.
