This is despite the fact that, according to her, she comes from a very secular home of "people who do mitzvot and acts of kindness without connection to laws that I have no idea what their source is (not as a criticism, I really don't know how it all started)."
Against the backdrop of these things, the actress found herself at the center of a storm online. Her honest sharing regarding her faith was met with a sharp attack from the left-wing camp. Left-wing activist Magi Otzari even wrote on her X account that if she prays, "then let your husband go run for mayor of Bnei Brak."
Many online chose to come out against Wertheimer, and attacked: "Which Maya?
