Cala Vera: Bat Yam Welcomes a Stunning New Mediterranean Dining Hotspot
Discover Cala Vera, a stunning new 250-seat Mediterranean restaurant on the Bat Yam coastline featuring a menu by Chef Ohad Levy and stunning sea views.

A stunning new culinary hotspot has arrived on the Mediterranean shoreline. Located at the southern tip of the Tayo Beach promenade in Bat Yam, Cala Vera officially opened its doors, offering a sprawling 250-seat seaside dining experience.
A Culinary Journey by the Sea
Backed by an 8 million shekel investment—a joint venture involving the municipality and the Cafe Landwer chain—the restaurant features a meticulously crafted menu by Chef Ohad Levy. Known for his prominent role in southern Israel’s culinary scene and his work at acclaimed establishments like Herbert Samuel, Catit, and MAMO in Eilat, Levy brings a sophisticated yet approachable touch to Mediterranean cuisine.
The menu seamlessly blends fresh local seafood, vibrant vegetables, and bold coastal flavors. Diners can indulge in dishes such as sea fish sashimi with yuzu and nectarine salsa, crispy fish cigars with harissa aioli, and charcoal-grilled meager skewers served with charred white corn salad.
Design and Evening Atmosphere
Beyond the plate, the restaurant’s interior design reflects the natural beauty of the coastline. Clean lines, natural materials, and bright, airy tones ensure that the sea remains a constant backdrop. As daylight fades, the atmosphere shifts, transforming the dining room into a vibrant evening destination.
"We wanted to build a place that respects the sea and its surroundings, yet stands firmly on the strength of its food, service, and atmosphere," shares Moshe, one of the co-owners.
Cala Vera marks the first phase of a broader revitalization project at Tayo Beach, with a beach bar named Cala set to open next spring.
