Where do you keep the recipes you find online? There is no need to answer, because they are surely scattered in a mess across various apps, notes, and browser tabs. Now, the Israeli portal mako is bringing order to your culinary archives. The new mako Recipe Book is a single, dedicated space inside the mako app where you can save any recipe you come across—whether on mako, Instagram, TikTok, or any other website.

It remembers everything for you, and it keeps your collection perfectly organized.

Saving Directly from the mako App

If you find a dish you like while browsing the mako app, saving it takes just a second:

  1. Open the recipe page in the mako app.

  2. In the top bar of the page, locate the bookmark icon and tap it.

  3. The bookmark will fill in, indicating that the recipe has been saved to your personal book.

Tip: If you change your mind, tapping the bookmark icon again will instantly remove the recipe from your collection.

Saving from Instagram and TikTok via the Share Button

When you stumble upon a mouthwatering Reel or video with a recipe you must try, you can import it directly:

  1. Tap the "Share" arrow on the post.

  2. From the list of apps that appears, select mako. If you do not see the mako icon, tap "More" (the three-dot icon).

  3. The mako app will open briefly, showing a short loading screen while the system reads the link and extracts the content.

  4. Within seconds, a fully formatted recipe page will open, featuring a clean list of ingredients and step-by-step preparation instructions. Tapping "Back" will take you to your Recipe Book, where the new entry will be waiting at the top of your list.

Alternatively, you can tap "Copy link" on the social media post, open your mako Recipe Book, tap the orange plus (+) icon, and paste the link to save it.

Importing from Any Website or Food Blog

Whether it is a recipe from a niche food blog, a foreign website, or an email sent by a friend, you can easily add it to your digital book:

  1. Copy the URL link of the recipe page.

  2. Open the Recipe Book in the mako app.

  3. If this is your first recipe, paste the address into the input field on the welcome screen. If you already have saved recipes, tap the orange plus (+) button at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Paste the link into the designated field and tap "Save Recipe". The system will parse the page and save it as a clean, readable recipe card.

iPhone Guide: Adding mako to the Share Sheet

Sometimes on iOS, the mako app does not immediately appear in the quick share options. This one-time fix takes less than a minute:

  1. Tap the "Share" icon on your iPhone, scroll to the end of the app row, and tap "More".

  2. Look for mako in the list. If it is not there, tap "Edit" in the top corner, then tap the green plus (+) icon next to mako to move it to your Favorites.

  3. If you still cannot find mako, visit the App Store to ensure your app is updated to the latest version.

What is Inside Your Digital Recipe Book?

Every recipe you save, regardless of its original source, is stored in your personal in-app library, featuring:

  • Visual Cards: A clean overview of all recipes with titles and preview images.

  • Source Badges: A small icon on each card indicating whether the recipe came from Instagram, TikTok, or mako.

  • Preparation Time: Estimated cooking times are displayed directly on the card.

  • Chronological Order: The most recently saved recipe always appears first, so you never have to search for your latest find.
