The refereeing controversy surrounding the Madrid derby continues to escalate. The Spanish Technical Committee of Referees published its analysis of the controversial incidents from the match between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, admitting that Lee Kang-in should have been sent off.

The committee determined that the South Korean player's challenge on Fede Valverde warranted a straight red card. "He makes contact with Valverde's leg using his studs, causing a twist in the joint and a high risk of injury. Direct free kick and a red card. A clear and obvious error by the referee. The VAR should have intervened," the statement read.
On the other hand, the committee backed the decision to issue only a yellow card to Cristian Romero following his challenge on Jude Bellingham. Meanwhile, the committee also addressed the expulsion of Dean Huijsen, confirming that VAR intervention was correct.

Against the backdrop of the refereeing storm, the clash between Real Madrid and La Liga president Javier Tebas continued to intensify. Shortly after Los Blancos issued a harsh statement against the league president, Tebas fired back on social media.
