If you have never been to Mexico City, Los Tacos in Ra'anana offers a vibrant culinary journey that skips the local adaptations and serves authentic street food. Located on the historic Ha-Shuk Street, this kosher taqueria was opened by Sara and Yoni Obsevitz, immigrants who wanted to bring true Mexican flavors to Israel.

A Taste of Mexico in Ra'anana

The space is small, colorful, and informal, featuring Mexican decorations and bright plastic plates. The couple chose a focused menu to stay as close as possible to the street food they love from home. They import many ingredients directly from Mexico, including corn kernels for tortillas, spices, nopal cactus, jalapeños, and mezcal.

"Beyond the food, our dream was to create a joyful place where people meet, eat, drink, and laugh together," says Sara Obsevitz.

The Star of the Show: Fresh Tortillas

The heart of the eatery is the tortilla machine standing in the dining room, pumping out soft, warm tortillas continuously. The menu centers on tacos served on double tortillas with onions, cilantro, radish and cucumber salad, and liquid guacamole and salsa verde.

Fillings include slow-cooked lengua, suadero beef, al pastor with pineapple, campechano, and vegan mushroom tacos. Diners can spice things up with house-made salsas like roja, habanero, chipotle, and spicy Mexican tahini.

Drinks and Atmosphere

To wash it down, the menu features traditional aguas frescas such as horchata and Jamaica hibiscus tea, alongside alcoholic options like tamarind margaritas, mezcalitas, and micheladas. Los Tacos delivers a straightforward, unpretentious street food experience that brings warmth and flavor to the Sharon region.
